We believe very strongly in community engagement, whether in terms of audience development and outreach or the education of young musicians (and especially their introduction to the world of historical performance practice).
One of our chief goals is to provide assistance to working musicians seeking to acquire their own period instruments. These instruments usually come from Europe or the United States, and costs of purchase as well as transport (especially for larger instruments) can be prohibitive.
In this light, we resolved in 2017 to acquire our own harpsichord through funds raised from a variety of sources such as contributions from members of the ensemble (including the proceeds of concerts and fees from masterclasses and workshops), individual donations, and loans (more in the link below).
If we can successfully complete the financing of this project, we will work on similarly part-financing other instruments in the future.
